Our review of the biggest and greatest music festivals in the USA. For the music fest fanatics there is something almost every weekend in Summer, Spring, and Fall somewhere in the USA. The winter time provides a little break in the live music scene in North America. We have listed some of the most popular festivals from all over the country. Our list includes some of our smaller favorite shows in our favorite towns, complemented by the large popular festivals with a tradition of big headliners and big crowds. From the deep south to the west coasts, the rocky mountains of colorado, to cool town on the easter seashore, there are numerous music fest scenes to choose from in the country that invented Rock and Roll. Music festivals provide the perfect vacation getaway.

Austin City Limits

The largest music fest in Austin. It's located in Zilker park and provides a large area to roam around and jump from stage to stage. You can typically score wristbands and tickets for at or under face. It's a two day weekend with big headliners and a wide range of music. Austin like to brag it's the music capital of the world and it has one of the best live music scenes anywhere. ACL is held over two weekends in mid October. The weather is typical nice, but sometimes can be hot.

Jazz Fest - New Orleans

The largest music fest in New Orleans, it has its fair share of local music with jazz, zydeco, gospel, brass band, and big time headliners that have turned this into a full rock fest. Ticket pricing and accommodations aren't too bad, and most of the time the late spring dates beat the summer heat. The fest is held at a racetrack and sometimes it can be a little crowded and messy, especially if it rains.

Bonorro

Of the the largest camping destination festivals in the county, Bomoroo is located in the Tennessee mountains in a small town that has setup a massive music grounds. Hotel rooms are limited, and there are a ton of people in the campgrounds. It's a rock festival with decent headliner names, and the crowd can be a bit on the deadhead side of the aisle.

Chicago Blues Fest

A free music fest in the heart of one of americas; great travel destinations. For those of us trying to escape the heat of the deep south in the summertime, this is one a great budget friendly excuse to a trip to the windy city.

Coachella Music Festival

Arguably one the top music fests every year in the country. It's located in Southern California and always has an outstanding line up. The Festival is hosted at Indio, CA Next to Joshua Tree 80 miles from downtown LA. The cool desert setting and proximity to LA make it a high end music vacation destination. The price for tickets and accommodations can be a bit expensive compared to some of our our favorite Music Festivals in the USA

Telluride Bluegrass Fest

Located deep in the Rockies, the small town of Telluride has 2 camping music festivals in the summertime. One of the great experiences in the USA for non stop music and camping in a cool mounting town.

Summer Fest Milwaukee

Spanning over 3 weekends, Summer Fest is one of the biggest events of the year in a city famous for its breweries. Milwaukee is one of the more affordable cities to visit in the USA. It's also gorgeous in the summertime.

Rega Rise up in Vegas

A super fun event in Vegas that made our list of great america music festivals. We're also suckers for a good Rega feast and make sure to sprinkle a few on our to do list every year. Vegas baby! Vegas!

SXSW

Located in the self proclaimed music capital of the world, Austin Texas. It's more of a business tech conference than your classic music fest. It started out as a collection of small stages and a place to find the next big act. It's now a huge party and spring break destination. There are a ton of small shows and some bigger free events as well. It's sort of like a cross between bar hopping and a music fest.
